"They were blessed with cool temperatures unlike those in the Napa Valley and discovered that the grapes could produce an intensively expressive wine."

Elizabeth Frater, Napa Valley Register

Atlas Peak Appellation

Wineries

The Atlas Peak Appellation Association, established in 2004, boasts a membership of wineries committed to growing, producing, bottling and marketing world-class wines.

Most of our member wineries are also growers, managing hillside vineyards that range in size from five to 500 hundred acres, producing an array of varietals that include Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, cabernet franc, syrah, petit verdot, malbec, marsanne, zinfandel, sangiovese, chardonnay and sauvignon blanc.

Unlike other areas of the Napa Valley, the two roads that access the Atlas Peak Appellation -- Soda Canyon Road and Atlas Peak Road -- are not lined with wineries open to the general public. Rather, our member wineries are tucked into the rocky landscape, hidden within Foss Valley or perched in and around Atlas Peak itself. But, this doesn't mean our winemakers and vintners are the least bit inhospitable -- we love visitors who need only give us a call to schedule a private tour and tasting.
